    Fanuc 10M, PC010, PC020 and PC500, then replaced SRAM chips, Now just LED 8, d, j

    Hi everyone,
    We have a Mori Seiki MV-55 w/Fanuc 10 control. It has occasionally faulted with either a PC010, PC020 or PC500 alarm. Rebooting the machine would usually clear the alarm and all was good. Recently the 2nd shift operator took it upon himself to order and attempt to replace/upgrade the SRAM chips. After he damaged and broke off some pins, they re-ordered replacements and asked me to do the install. I put the new SRAM and parity chips in the motherboard and powered up only to get "d" on the motherboard and no CRT display. I reverted back to the original SRAM/parity configuration and get "8" on motherboard LED. We tried swapping motherboards and the result is "j" on the motherboard LED. I'm kinda baffled now... It seems the original PC alarms pointed toward a PMC problem?

    8=RAM check, at error it turns to b.
    J=Waiting for answer from PMC
    Check if PMC-ROM cassette, PMC RAM Board or interface converter is mounted on master PCB; or replace the above PCB.

    Thank you for the reply, Yes after RAM check it turned to b. And the PMC is the ROM cassette. Is that saying my PMC-ROM cassette is causing the problem?
