    Pre sale questions

    Hi,
I want to buy a new controller (I have mk1 DIY) and have some questions. Below is what I understand that I need to make the change:
    controller https://planet-cnc.com/product/cnc-u...er-mk3-9-axis/
    license https://planet-cnc.com/product/cnc-u...oller-license/
    connector kit x 2 for 5 axis https://planet-cnc.com/product/connection-kit/
Is this enough to migrate from my DIY MK1 to the new one?
And most important, is this controller capable for 5 axis simultaneous machining?
    Best Regards

I would just add that you might find these adapters more useful for connection with your existing drivers, switches etc..:
    https://planet-cnc.com/product/limit-input-board/
    https://planet-cnc.com/product/adapt...rew-terminals/

Yes, you can use 5axis machine with our motion control system.
Make sure that you will be using suitable 5 axis gcode.

One think to notice with the "Adapter with screw terminals": This does not offer you a direct port for the error pin. This only matters when you use CL stepper or servos and you can get around this, but should be mentioned nevertheless.

New screw adapters have error pin. This is no longer an issue.

    Thank you both for answers.
I see that limit input board include cables and pin connectors, it is the same for adapter with screw terminals?

So if I order the two adapters that you suggested I don`t need anymore the connection kit, right?

This is to much for me, and I need two of them for 5 axis and 1 slave, so I ask if I order one connection kit can it be only with 10 pin connectors 7 of them with ribbon cable instead of 4x10 pins and 3x16 pins?
And off course I will get one adapter for limit switch.

Did you received the emails from me?
Just ask because I have no responses on my email, only one automated response from Friday when I placed the order.

    Yes, we received your order.

Well, I did not know that COVID spread even through emails and that be the reason for not getting an answer to my email.

P.S. I also expect an answer to my email (no joke here)

Sorry. I wrongly assumed your question was order related.

    Re: Pre sale questions

When I asked about "is this controller capable for 5 axis simultaneous machining?" I meant 5 axis interpolation motion (aka blend motion).
So after I bought the controller and build my 5 axis, I found that controller can not interpolate (or blend) motion between linear axis and rotary axis. You can use it for 5 axis machining, but at any linear axis change direction no mater how small the trajectory change, it will decelerate to stop and start again. That certainly is annoying and also time consuming.
I wrote this here so that others would not make the same mistake as me. Go find a controller that can interpolate motion on all axis.

    Re: Pre sale questions

Today I browse your shop and found this:
    https://planet-cnc.com/product/extinout/
There is an info: : "This board can be used with MK3/4 controller V2 version(red connector is present on controller). V1 version is not supported!"
I checked my controller and is the older version 1.2, I didn't see that when I received the board.
I'm 100% sure that when I ordered the controller was this picture on the shop witch is version 1.3.

    Attachment 491462

Now I want to know why I received the old version instead of the one that was advertised on the shop page?

    Re: Pre sale questions

You bought controller in March 2021, picture was changed on April, 15 2022, more than a year later. Mk3 v1.2 was out of stock long before picture in web shop was changed.
But v1.2 has Ext connector which can be used with ExtInOut board. Comment about red connector applies only to Mk3/4 controller which did not have Ext connector.
