Mori Seiki CL 20 turret won't index

Greetings. I have a 1996 Mori Seiki CL 20 with a 10 station turret and fanuc 21tb control. The machine has had a turret index problem for a while when cold but after you index it a few times it worked fine. That problem was, the turret would operate normally but the TRCL light would stay off after index was complete. Then it would have the EX0357 turret index time over alarm. Seems like there was a B phase keeping signal off alarm occasionally.

The problem now: I was running it yesterday and it went to do a tool change mid program and it alarmed out with a EX0357 turret index time over. The TRCL light was flashing. I cycled the power and now in manual, the TRCL light flashes and if you try to index, the turret extends to disengage, the TRCL light goes out but the turret does not rotate. After a few seconds, the TRCL and ERR starts flashing along with the EX057 alarm. At that point you can't move either axis or try to index again. After I power it down and back up, the turret pulls back in and you can try again and the axes move in manual. The only thing I can think of out of the ordinary was the hydraulic fluid was really low. Thank you in advance.

Re: Mori Seiki CL 20 turret won't index

It was the relay that powers the turret motor.
