I had that problem with my Mighty machine a couple of years ago. After a whole lot of trouble, I got it working again without being really sure what it was. I was not down on hydraulic fluid, but that would be my first recommendation: there is probably an air over hydraulic cylinder in the back of the machine. The force needed to release a tool is higher than can bemade with 90 psi shop air without the use of an enormous cylinder, so they make hydraulic pressure and use a smaller cylinder. You likely are down on fluid and there may be air in the system even if you replenish the fluid. Feel free to email me at [email protected] with any questions. A call to the dealer might help. Personally, I'll spend days trying to fix a machine myself before calling them in at $95/hr with a 4 hr minimum. I've saved thousands over 8 years just learning to fix tool jams, spindle orientation, backlash adjustment, electrical shorts, etc.
