Anybody still here? I need some dimensions...

My machine has been dead about 2 years. Started a spindle motor swap and got lost, and then uninterested. I am back on it now, but it seems I have misplaced the bolt that holds the R8 collet in the spindle... Could someone measure theirs and put the dimensions in this thread? Most needed are the total length under the shoulder, and the main shaft diameter. If you know the thread that would be great, but it's standard R8 collet thread, so I can figure it out.

    Thanks in advance!

I guess that would depend on what machine you have. As you stated, the shaft diameter is 7/16, but the length is machine specific. Use a welding rod or something to measure the collet end to the shoulder, then add about 2x the thread diameter.

It's in the MikiniMech forum - they only made one machine size.

Meh, just bought some Grade 8 threaded rod and a hardened nut. Will pin it at the right height and cut off the extra.
