    determining Power and ground wires on a linear encoder /scales

    Hi to all,
    After some help in determining which are the ground and power wires on this Linear Encoder / scales
    If someone cold help , i would be much appreciated.
    here are some photos.

    The ground and power wires should have a direct connection to the L393 (=LM393) chip. Check that with an ohmmeter. Pin 4 of the chip is ground, pin 8 is power.

    Normally, wire colors for ground and power would be black and red respectively. Unfortunately, it's not a 100% guarantee - some engineers are quite creative when it comes to wire colors and other conventions.
