Any idea about DNC parameter for this controller?
Any idea about DNC parameter for this controller?
I'm assuming you want to send / receive programs rather than drip-feed. It's my understanding that drip-feeding requires DNC-B option. Here's the parameters for sending / receving. I've attached the pages from the operator's manual.
Go to Parameters, Item down to Option Paramters, then page down to the External I/O Page:
1. Tape code : 1 ISO code
2. Recognize Tape code parity : 1 Auto
3. Tape TV check : 0 do not
4. Program end code : 1 ISO (%)
5. Tape read verify : 0 do not
6. Tape special code alarm : 0 no alarm
7. Ignore tape special code : 1 ignore
8.File name output : 0 output
9. Output of record end code : 0 CR, LF
10. Punch out of empty chr. Code : 0 null
11. Read device number : 0 CN0:
12. Punch device number : 0 CN0:
13. Tape feed : 1 # of nulls
Then page down to RS232C (CN0 parameters
1. RS232C stop bit check : 1 1 stop bit
2. RS232C parity check : 0 do not
3. RS232C even parity : 1 even
4. RS232C 8 bit JIS : 1 use
5. Control DC code on type 2 : 0 do not
6. RS232C file name read : 1 execute
7. CNC slave station : 0 master
8. RS232C baud rate (bps) : 9600
9. RS232C busy timer(s) : 30 (seconds)
Set your DNC system to 9600, Even Parity, 7 Data Bits, 1 Stop Bit, and XON/XOFF (Software) handshaking.
Good luck.
by the way, next to the subject.
OSP5020L. Part programs and parameters are flying forward - back via RS232. Only the problem is: operator needs to input proper program name when receiving file to OSP.
With modern thinking it's wierd - it's very normal to define file name with "read" command.
I changed parameter #12 and #13 bit 7 to "0" and back to "1". Doesn't helps:
"2510 file name bla bla bla"
is there some way to name a part program independently from the $name%?
Incorrect info!!
DNC-B does not use the "PIP-Punch / Read" protocol,
Filenames and the like at the top of the file are either ignored or create errors
- At the M/C, select DNC comms ON
- At the PC, select the program to run DNC.
- At the M/C, push cycle start, and you are running.
There is no screen info as to what program you are currently running,
only the NC-code currently being executed and the running method ( A,B,S or R)
sorry, my comment related to DNC as to RS232 communication only. My question about verification of part program name.
