    Detail setting

    Hello,

I would like to ask if anyone can suggest the fast way to set the wheel before shaving backpad of alloy wheel? Front of cast alloy wheels sometimes have not perfectly simple shape. So when I put a wheel in front of face to the table of our milling machine, the rear edge of the wheel does not coincide analogously to the level of backpad (~0,06, mm etc). In this situation after shaving wheel gets runout. How to slove the problem? thank you so much Michael

Alloy wheel machining usually has a special fixture, is this a new raw casting or an old wheel ?

    Hi,

    New wheels.
Yes we have special hydraulic fixture, its accuracy is ok. it looks more or less like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLVmAcjhxHY

The problem is because of some wheels. Just a little difrence betwwen level back pad to the level of rear lips of barrel make runout.

In this application, I think interpolation is less accurate than turning, However if you could probe the casting at various points including the bore, you may be able to produce a more accurate wheel from the casting after offset adjustment.
