Thanks Mark....if i followed Gus,s advice I would be in flames right now...tee..heee.heee 8-)......just jokin Gus.....Well guys...here it is....found the fault....It was in the heidenhain control itself.....One of the resistor-fuses that are used to protesct the control circuits was burnt "open".....replaced it...and now that all the other things are repaired....ITS ALIVE!!!!

Glad you are now working at last. I do recall saying quite some while back:

"Did the 24v DC fail in a mode that put significantly higher, or maybe AC, volts onto the TNC - if so has the 24v input on the TNC let the magic smoke out?"

I have the same problem on a tnc 145 i cant find diagrams for it though, any idea where these resistor-fuses are found?

Found it all on my own!
Resistor next to J1/8 blown although didn't look black meter caught it.
all working!
