What is the procedure for blocking spindle and counter weight when moving machine?
Their should be two large holes on the switch side in back. These are for pins to hold the counterweight and have two opposing tapped holes for the original pins. The counterweight will also have these though holes. If you dont have your original pins you can use some 1" bar stock and jog untill tight. Next you want to take some wood and shore up the spindle nose (Doen let the spindle ride on the two nubs that hold the tool for tork.
That the procedure if your moving long distance...if its short then just shore up the spindle. A 5000lb lift will tilt the front to get a dolley under it (steer dolly) and then a machinery jack and two dollies for the rear. (For moving around the shop)
When blocking up a spindle there are some things you need to do.If the machine was bought brand new it should have a book it will tell you every thing .If the machine was bought used if you need I will copy mine and send you a copy.
