    Acorn for Multiple Machines

This may be a stupid question but can I run two different machines (cnc mill and cnc router) with the same free Acorn CNC12 software? Is there a way to configure two separate machines on the same laptop?

No, it's not a stupid question at all! The short answer is yes, you can run two different CNC machine tools (in this case, a CNC mill and a CNC router) with the same Acorn CNC12 software.

To configure two separate machines on the same laptop, you will need to set up two separate profiles within the Acorn CNC12 software, each with its own unique configuration settings for the specific CNC machine tool you plan to use.

You will need to create a separate profile for each machine, and then configure the settings for each machine separately. This will allow you to switch between machines and use the appropriate settings and toolpaths for each machine.

It's important to note that each CNC machine tool may have different requirements in terms of hardware and software, so you may need to ensure that your laptop meets the minimum system requirements for both machines. Additionally, you may need to purchase additional hardware, such as a USB hub, to connect both machines to your laptop simultaneously.

Overall, with some careful configuration and planning, it is definitely possible to run two different CNC machine tools with the same Acorn CNC12 software.
