    Spindle Speed

    G'day guys,

    I've got a 1100 - Series 3.

Every time I have to set a tool height, it drives me crazy that the spindle "homes'' first and then
travels at 110 mm per minute, down to the tool setter. It takes forever!

Is there an easy way to change the rapid speed of the Z axis for this procedure?

    Ra-bowtie,
The probing rough and fine speed can be controlled on the Probe Setup tab within the Probe/ETS tab. In G21 the machine will move to the g37 position then use the Rough Probe Feed f
rate to drop the tool down to the ets then come up a bit and use the Fine Probe Feed rate to confirm the tool length.
