    3d help please

    Hi,
New to the forum and new to 3d design. I have been using v carve for a while and it’s been great (2D only) with some use of the moulding tool. However I have come up against something I am not to sure on and would love some help. I am after creating a 3d shape.
I will attach a picture of what I am trying to achieve.
I am sure I will need to upgrade to aspire.
There are 3 measurements that I have.
I have the Birds Eye view of a rib which is sausage shaped
A few from the side which is a long shape that tapers at the ends and then one from the end which is a small lump shape.
Is there an easy way to achieve this? I have all the measurements needed.
I am looking to cut the shape out of my work piece not make a mould of it.

    Huge thankyou in advance,
    Adam

You could upgrade to VCarve Pro or VCarve Desktop. It would let you cut 3D and create simple 3D shapes. It also let you drop 3D .stl model designed in different software , position and scale it to your needs.
I have VCarve and I like it, thinking about upgrading to Aspire this year…
If you drop the measurements we can calculate toolpath, be specific (where you want your zeros).

    Hi Vlod,
    Thankyou for your reply.
I currently have v carve pro sorry I didn’t write that in the post.
I will be near my computer later and I can attach the file of what I am trying to achieve. I don’t think it is possible without me upgrading to aspire.
Unfortunately I have liked at fusion 360 and find it really confusing for me, so would like to stick to vectric if possible or.

    Many thanks

    Your attachment didn’t show.

In VCarve you can manipulate a single simple 3D shape vs Aspire let you create and manipulate multiple but the price bites…
Have you try Solidworks, I find it better for me and they have “Makers 3D “ version for $99 a year.

You are right, it would be complicated without Aspire.
Have you try to create additional perpendicular rail and side profile in moulding path and then clear the rest with pocketing.
It leaves sharp corners but looks good…
