Can FlatCAM engrave a simple path

Hi, relatively new to CNC although I have done milled prototype circuit boards for a few years using EasyEDA+FlatCAM+Candle. This has worked well for my needs but now I would like to engrave some text and symbols in the unmilled copper layer. It is the purple I want to engrave in the attached picture.

I'm not an expert but it seems like there is no function in FlatCAM to just let the tool go along the path defined in the gerberfile?

Re: Can FlatCAM engrave a simple path

Funnily enough, others seem to have asked the same question and apparently the answer is "yes, but only the stupid way - by using the command line". See this: https://caram.cl/software/flatcam/tr...-with-flatcam/

Fair warning, Flatcam 8.5 just threw an error on that for me - YMMV, or you might just need the exact version used in the linked post (v7). Good luck...
