hi all,

What is the difference between BT30 and ISO30?
Is BT30 designed for mills which require higher torques while ISO30 are for routers requiring lower torques? Design wise, BT30 has two notches that engage/lock with spindle while ISO30 does not have them and rely completely on friction between holder and spindle for the rotating torque?

If this is the case, in order to align spindle with the toolholder during an aromatic tool change operation (so that notches are aligned to slots in spindle), we are forced to use a servo for the spindle? Or are there any other workarounds that do not require a servo?

Are there any BT30 type ATC spindles with motor/pneumatics integrated?

Thanks
Sus
