Milling parts to stock and thickness ?s.

Most of our parts that get machined get milled to rough length, maybe skim the top of the stock, then flip, machined to finished length and thickness.
Then what ever needs to be done.
I don't see an option for leaving stock.
What would be the best way or ways to perform these task in Bobcad?

    Thanks.

Offset your part profile so it cuts larger than you need.

    Another way!!!!

If you use cutter comp to machine the lenght of the part, then simply lie to the machine that the tool it is larger than the actual size of it and the machine will then stay away from the programed path by that amount (ie: if you want to leave .02 for finish, tell the machine in the tool diameter register for that tool that the tool is .04 bigger that the actual size). Cutter comp. is a wonderful function and it eliminates the old fashion offsets. It allows you full control of your part size without changing the G code.
    Hope this helps.
