    How to seal the hole in vacuumtable?

    Hi all,
    we bought used SCM Record 1, in the vacuumtable are some holes wich made by mistake. Hence the pump can't make it. Maybe some have experience, how can i seal it.

    The simplest solution would be Devcon aluminum putty epoxy. Next would be to write a small program to cut out the damage and insert an aluminum patch. Then carefully finish machine the patch to the table surface.

    If your table had the option of controlling which section of the table was drawing vacuum, you could close off those valves.

    Another thought(if you have plenty of vacuum capacity) is to cover the whole table with spoil board of 1/2" MDF and duct tape the sides to seal it to the aluminum table after it has been decked flat(fly cut) to de-skin both sides. Then you could throw on some 3-5mil plastic sheet over all remaining area not in use to seal off vacuum pulling through the MDF.
