fanuc o-t alarm 1006 tool position error

does anyone know how to realign the turret on a lathe with a fanuc o-t control. and how to change the the tool number in the control to match the tool number on the turret.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

A little background as to your issue might help us to answer. Is the turret out of position due to a crash? Has it simply rotated to the wrong position? Is it in the right position, but 'thinks' it is wrong?

I do not know if the machine was crashed it is new to me. I can tell you that the turret looks like it is over rotating then when it clamps it comes back into position because of the the pin that aligns. and like I was saying before the tool number on the turret does not match the tool number in the control. is there a way to recalibrate the turret.

the simplest way is to call a tool no. say T0101 means tool no.1 in MDI mode.Unscrew the tool disc from the turret, locate the the tool no.1 on the disc and re fit it according to the tool number as if when u call tool no.1 the disc has the tool no.1.

Did u say tht turret is over rotating. It once happened with my m/c it has 8 station turret Barufaldi Make. The problem discovered was the 24V Power Supply wich is given to the brake. The brake wasnt operating at all bcoz the voltage it was receiving was less than 24V .But when Power Supply was replaced the problem was solved.

From what you have described, I would think that it has had a crash causing the two halves of the curvic coupling to be misaligned (assuming the machine has one). When the turret clamps, it is twisting enough to cause the encoder to be out of position, hence the alarm. Quickest way to test this is to call up a particular tool (eg tool 1) in MDI and see if that tool comes to the cutting position (more or less). If it does, then you will need to remove the turret drum (the bit that holds the tools) and realign the coupling. I probably should have asked before, what brand/model is the machine?

    regards, Oz

Are you trying to run a program when this happens? It sounds like you're missing an M05 or an M35 prior to trying to start a spindle. If you can't find it, post your program here, and we'll have a look.

Thank You, It turned out that the live tooling drive shaft was frozen and was causing the alarm!

Wink Yang ML28A 1006 error repair

There are 2 methods to repair. First method. Home the X and Z axis. Move the turrett to the number 1 position. Reboot. Hold down P anc CAN on boot up.
Second method. Move the turrett to the number 1 position. Parameter 0455 and 0460 must match. Change PWE to 1. Change key lock to edit (green). Move to diagnostic page. Scroll to the parameters. Verify 624 is XXXX0001. X is anything. The last 4 are the prox positions. 455 should be 0001. 460 should be 0001. Change the one that is not 0001. They must match.
