    Want to go faster

I have 201's installed running tubocnc
    all works fine.
    I get cutterpaths from Unigraphics
That all works fine.. Just slow
50 Min to do a small part.
    Want to install G901,s

Do I need 1 for each conrtroller?
Is it as Simple as it Looks to go up to 10 times faster?

    doesitfloat,
I am not sure you will be able to go faster just by adding this board. A lot depends on your mechanical setup and how much power your steppers have! Also, have you maxed out just how fast you can go in the configuration. Possibly you have your max speeds set to low? Or can you change the feed rate in your g-code program?
I would look at the last thing first! If you are telling it to go slow in the g-code file, it will still go slow as you have to change your configuration for using the multiplyer board. Remember it you multiply steps by 10, you have to change your steps/unit by X/10 or it will move 10x as far as you command. Therefore, no speed change!

OK let me specify where it is slow.
Rapid movement Manual control of axis---fast
    Manual g-code if a circle----fast
G code from UG feedrate at 30ipm and 10 ipm same and slow.
The code I'm importing is primarly goto point x,y,z... Hundreds of lines of that.
That is where it is slow.
I have my accelerations set high( I think I'll check when I get home.)
**thinking and typing out loud** Maybe my accelerations need to be set much higher because I'm telling to do so many small steps it never accelerates to the feed rate.

OK, sounds like there is not a problem with the machine. You indicate it will move fast enough when doing fairly long moves. So possibly it is an acceleration factor or just plain the piece that you are working on. It sounds like the moves are short in nature? Not knowing what your working on, might it be possible to re-cam using a larger tool? It won't speed up the moves, but it will take more material per pass? Do a roughing pass with a "large" tool and then finish with a smaller tool to achieve the desired finish.

Went back and adjusted my accelerations.
    X and Y at 5000 and Z at 2000
    This doubled my old settings.
Part machine time went from 49 min to 12 min.

My test part is a bullet looking tube 1/2 " diameter by 2" long
