We have a Shizuoka Millmaster B3V, Mid 80s
The machine was purchased in the condition it is now. The tool changer hasn’t worked since we owned it. But we decided to try to get it working if we can. It has a single tool arm and a Fanuc 6M control. Power is via phase converter.

One issue (there are several) is we are having intermittent luck with spindle orientation. At times it will go directly to the orient position, other times it will do a quick rotational move not to the correct orient position, then hunt very slowly (creep) until it times out. It has a Sanyo Spindle motor and a Macome Magnetic Flux Sensor #FS-1414.

Another issue is when the spindle does orient, and the machine continues on with a tool change sequence, all moves are seemingly correct except the carrosel does not move. The arm instantly re-grabs the same tool it just put away, then puts it into the spindle as if the carrosel rotated to the correct tool. The carrosel will rotate cw and ccw when manually switched from the control box near the carrosel..

Any ideas?
