    Part->Block->Drawing-> Dimension

I have a model that contains a sketch that contains a block. The block repesents a piece I want to machine.

The block within the model already has all the dimensions I want "marked for drawing"

I would like to make a drawing coontaining the block.
I can insert the block into a drawing.
The dimmensions I created while within the model show in the drawing.
But I cannot modify the position of the dimensions while within the drawing.

Is this posible with blocks made from parts?
I can do what I want to with parts inserted in drawings but am not as succesful with blocks.

    any advice?

8 years of SW and I have never used a "block" (never seen any use for them - not like in ACAD).
    Can't help - sorry

    Designing part

I'm designing a part that moves, so it's features are dependant on adjacent components while in two poaitions.

So I drew my block, and have an instance of the block in both positions.
While so I modify the same block while in two places.

I got tired of repeatedly moving, editing and then moveing back and editing again.

So I thiiought to myself "there has to be a better way, what is that Block menu command that I always ignore, what does it actually do?"

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Not enough info.

How about doing a save as and having 2 parts, that should resolve the conflict.
