What model Fanuc? What happens if you type a program number prior to hitting the READ - EXEC keys (O2001, READ, EXEC) then send your program?

The easiest way to find out is to punch a program to the PC, and see what it outputs for the program number. It should either be something like 'O1234' or ':1234'.

When I send the program from my nc editor to the machine the program controller changes the number to O0001.

Yep that hapens to me sometimes. If i leave out % on the line before the program number. Or use a program number thats already being used.
