Anilam Crusader II X-Axis servo card issue

    Hi!

I have a client looking for a Anilam Crusader II Controller , X-Axis servo driver card.
    It is faulty as diagnosed.

I can Power up the servos manually and they shut down almost immediately.
But I can move all axis until it shuts down.

When I remove the X-Axis Card, the Y and Z axis Servos will be up as long as I need until I manually shut them down.

The moment I plug in the X-Acis servo Card, System shuts all the Servos immediately.

Please let me know, If you have replacement Cards or whether you undertake repairs.

    regards,
    - ajith

    ajith,

Have you tried swapping the servo amp cards from x to y or z to x if these are all the same boards and all the same motors? Disconnecting the board only shows there is a problem with the axis, but does not define it to the board specifically. If the symptom follows the board, then I say you're correct. I do not know what other troubleshooting you have done besides removing it.

    Hi! DC,

    Thanks for your reply,
I can get all the servos running for awhile when I manually power them up.
That shows there is no Problem in the motor or Encoder.
Now , I remove the X servo AMP Card I can keep the Y and Z Mortors running until I
shut them down manually, so that shows I have a Problem with the Card!
I did not swapp the Cards I amnot sure whether they all use the same DC input current
But looks like I have to check the wiring diagrams and do it after checking the power
    levels.

I know nothing about the anilam system, so I can only lend generic comments.

If the motors have a built in tach, the loss of feedback can shut down the drive. As a last resort, you could also swap the motors. In some instances you can swap the cables between x and y in the cabinet, but you must include all feedback and motor cables in that swap. This would save removing the motors, but if the motors turn in different directions toward homing, trigger them manually. Just be on your toes and the E-stop if they take off uncontrolled.

If it all stays with the X-axis, next would be cable connections I suppose. The concept here is to get the issue to move to another axis to prove or disprove each components functional integrity.

Do the amps have any manufacturers numbers?

    One Ebay Source

Looks to be an Acu-Rite company?

    Best of luck,

is there a red LED on the servo drive card on?
You likely have a bad Transister due to a shorted wire or aging.
    They are High current Darlingtons.
same thing happened to me. I replaced all the drive transisters and all is well again. (only one was bad) mine was due to a short on the connector for the Y axis. I have a shop that can diagnose and repair for you if desired.
PM me if you want more info.
