    Heidenheim / Blume Calibration

    Hello,

I am finding that my tools are cutting about .0004 of an inch too low in the Z-axis consistantly.

I want to modify the current setting by this number and have found some ways of POSSIBLY doing it.

It my blum manual, they talk of a file called BLUM_000.TAP in a directory PLC:\BLUM\. I can't see this on our controller.

It says that line 32 in this file is for putting in an offset.

    A. Is this how I should tweak my setting?

Note, I also find reference in another place that this number is for
    - Temp. displacement value dR ---hmmmm...

    thanks in advance.

I think that you do not edit the BLUM_000.tab file. You must run the calibration program and change the length of the known tool and re-run if required to tweak the length.

Had anyone ran the calibration program and if so, is it a big deal or can problems come about while doing so.

    thanks.

    Blum Calibration

Does anyone have the ability to tune their own lasers in? I think software and a cable is required. We have heidenhaim controllers.

Also, I am thinking of what can be done to check them without this technology. The laser receiver must interact through binary somewhere in the control itself.

Does anyone know where this voltage/binary signal can be found.

    thanks
