Solid Model CAD file(s) of HF 44991 / X2 Mini Mill?

I'm going to do a 2-axis CNC conversion on my HF 44991 mill. But before I start reverse-engineering the entire machine, does anyone already have CAD files for this machine they'd like to share? First choice would be native Inventor, but I could also use STEP or native SolidWorks files as well, as long as they'll open in SolidWorks 2001. Thank you!

That would be a great thing to start off with.... But unfortunately, almost every x series mill I have or seen has had small variations on the sizing and location of some items. You would be best suited to "Blueprint" your own because of this. I have had to make several modifications to plans posted by hoss and even modify the LMS belt kit plate a bit due to screw holes off by a few tenths.

This was also the case with CNC fusion kit I ordered for my sx3. Not any ones fault, but the machines are not held to extreme tolerances at the factory. That is left to us after we take possession.

Ahhh... VERY good info there, CJ. Thank you for that! I kind of wondered how much variation there was from one machine to another, and it sounds like a substantial amount. Oh well, it's simple enough to measure & model myself.
