fanuc 6m has system error 402

When I turn on the control the CRT reads system error 402. I can not change to any other screens i do not think it is on the alarm screen. Was running find when I shut it off.

There is no alarm 402 that I can find on the 6M. Could that be alarm 602 or 902 ?

Found it. The 402 alarm is a 4th axis overload alarm. Do you have a 4th axis? If not, then the option parameter for the 4th axis somehow got turned on, so now it's sensing an overload for a servo that's not there.

If you have a 4th axis, push the little RESET button on the back of the servo. Also, check the 4th axis cables to see that they're all connected properly.
