Question fanuc 18m g30 reference position

Hi; I am trying to help get a Johnford vertical machining center up and running that has been setting for quite a while. The batteries were dead and the 1815 axis home parameters had to be reset. When we try to do a tool change, the spindle "z" position misaligns with the tool changer by .145. I know that the 9000 macro is calling a g91 g30 z0 as the tool change position. Can I reset the g30 reference position so that it aligns with the tool changer? If so, what parameter do I need to set to do so. Also, the g30 position is not the machine home position on this machine.
One other question: Can someone tell me what parameter protects the 9000 macros on this machine?
    Thanks

This is a z axis recovery for a fanuc oi mate it may help.

    Reference point setting

    Change PWE to 1

    Confirm Parameter 1002.1 = 1
    Confirm Parameter 1815.5 = 1
    Change Parameter 1815.4 to 0
Check parameter 1320 and 1321 and record the settings
    Change parameter 1320 to +99999999 and 1321 (Z) only to -99999999
Turn off the power to the machine
    Turn on the power
Using the MPG line up the marks on the Z axis column with the mark on the head
Change parameter 1815.4 back to 1 (Z axis only)
Turn off the power to the machine
    Turn on the power
Place the Rapid Transverse knob to F0
Zero return Z axis using Z+ button
Change parameters 1320 and 1321 back to the original settings recorded earlier.
    Change PWE back to 0.

The 300, 306 and 307 alarms are normal when the motor is removed and will be reset once this procedure is completed.

Is this something you can use?
    It's Fanuc 15M parameters.

Param. 1241 Coordinates of the second reference position in the machine coordinate
    system.

    Parameter 3202.4 allows/restricts editing of 9000 programs.

You can adjust G30 by adjust the Reference 2 positions but you may need to just simply reset the home position all together for that axis which will require you to toggle 1815. I don't have it all in front of me so I can't remember offhand. Al the Man would probably know this off the top of his head. And for many machine makes, G30 isn't machine home, its usually a HOME 2 for things like tool changing and pallet changing. G28 is usually the actual machine home.
It's just a part..... cutter still goes round and round....

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure that I can adjust the machine home position because I may be too close to the hard limit to be able to move that far in the direction I need to go.
