    GOTO Z

Is there a way to get the machine to GOTO Z using the keyboard?

If you modify the screen with Screen Designer, you can assign Hotkeys to any of the buttons on the screen. You do this in Screen Designer.

Press and hold ctlr and type o (the letter, not the number)

Sorry. I'm not getting it. I don't want to redesign my screen. I want to push a key or two and have my machine react as though I put my cursor on the
GOTO Z button and have the machine go to that position in all axis.

He's saying that control-o will do what you want. I was not aware of that. A lot of the buttons already have keyboard shortcuts. The ones that don't can be added using the screen designer.

Yep. Control O works for me. I wasn't aware of that either. Thanks.

I don't know what's working for you guys but this is what happens here.

    To start...All dros are 0.
I jog my gantry to another position.
IF I put my cursor on the GOTO Z button. the gantry will move back to the start position and again all dros are zero.

If I do the same again but this time do Ctrl-o(the letter) the dros will zero but the gantry won't move at all and the TO GO button starts flashing.

    Smile Move to somewhere else.

Move to somewhere else. Zero the DRO's for each axis.
Move to somewhere else. Hit control-o. Are you back at the new spot now?
If you have the Distance To Go ON, then while you are not moving the DRO's will show zero.
You hotkey for control-o must be set to be the Distance To Go button.
    Edit your hotkeys.

Ctrl-o still only zeros the dros. The machine does not move. How do I edit HOT KEYS? I brought up the System HotKey setup window and I haven't a clue what to do with it.

I finally found out why I could not duplicate the GOTO Z function with my keyboard. My version of Mach was 2.0.003 and when I downloaded the latest ver of Mach 3, hitting CTRL o is the same as pushing the GOTO Z on the screen. That's what I wanted. Also I got a SHUTTLE PRO 2 and untill I got the latest ver of Mach3, the rings would not work. Now all works fine untill I
    find another quirk.

Different versions of Mach can be problematic when trying to diagnose things. Art sure did put a lot of features in over a short time.
Glad to hear it is working now.
