    Changes to Dimension Preference

I got the student version to go along with the classes I'm taking at a Comm. College. Well, after installing it I noticed it is set to mm, not inches. I'd like to set the default to inches. Anybody know how, and can send me details to do it.

Open the original template for a solid part.

Go to Tools>Options> Document Properties tab, Then change the template to what you want the defaults set to.

Then go to "Save As" and save it as a file named "My Template" or "Inch". Using "save as type" set to Part Template=*.prtdot

Make sure the location you are saving it in is pointed at the; Program Files>SolidWorks>Data>Templates folder so that when you open a new file from the wizard, your inch template is shown to select from.

Things like this are in the help files also.
