    Oil Grooves

I would greatly apreciate if someon out there can help me with progamming some oil grooves on the I.d. and face of a steel bushing. The grooves are mirrored one is left hand and the other is right hand and the face groove starts in the same place one of the i.d grooves starts. I have 3 different makes of CNC lathes Mazak Quick turn with 640T nexus control, Mori Seiki SL250 with Fanuc MSC518TC controls and Deawoo Puma with Fanuc 21I-TB controls. If anyone Knows anything that can help me I would greatly apreciate it. Attachment in PDF format Please Help.

    Oil Grooves

I intend to try using the threading cycle. But what I am not sure of is how I'm going to do the mirrored groove at 180 degrees.

simple solution for the second pass, reverse the spindle, do the same pass, start exactly 1/2 lead further away from the part than on the first pass . most of the time double lead threads are done that way (some mahcines allow phasing in threading and the start point need not be altered)

Your Mazak will allow "phasing" of a thread cycle. In the THD process
it asks how many entry's, under MULTI for a 180° rotation that obviously would be 2.
