    Classic DROs & CNC

    Hi,
I am starting to convert my Taig mill to CNC. Currently, my manual mill has a Shumatech DRO. http://www.finelinehair.com/home/Taig_Mill_DRO.htm The question is, should I leave the DRO on the machine when I add CNC or remove it? I know Mach3 has DROs on the screen & a manual jog mode. The DRO has a tachometer (not so important as I only have 6 set speeds) and some simple built-in functions. Is it OK to have a crank on the (dual) stepper shaft & use manually with the stepper's power off? thanks, Alan

You can leave the dro it will not hurt one bit and it is way OK to have handles on the other end of the steppers.
