    Update!

Update to CutFiles .com! I have added a place for users to request files (a forum) and add tips/tricks if they wish. I noticed there were a lot of hits and thought this may be useful - a lot of people may be visiting, but may not find what they're looking for. Hope this helps!

The forum looks great. Nice job. I've been thinking about a forum on my site, and was wondering how to put up one in the CncZone style. Who hosts your forum or is it simple written by you in Java? thanks.

    FORUMS

Hi, Im not sure what CNC zone is using, but I'm using a Drupal module which will only work with a Drupal CMS. I would suggest "phpBB" it's free open source and works very well. I used it on another site I built ages ago.

cnczone uses vBulletin, I use phpbb, there's no exotic programing involved, its just a script and some basic database know-how. Google "forum" .. you should get a few hits.

Great to hear! I've been contributing whatever I can but it isn't much. I hope others will contribute as well! There are several hits every day on the site, so many people find it useful!

I will be uploading some 3D CAD solidworks files.
If anyone needs any files converted into 3D let me know, I would be glad to add them there.

    the link is

    cutfiles .com

the moderaters deemed it necessary to change it to "cnczone.com" if you put in the link. Thanks for contributing!

This was the reason I came to CNCZone in the first place. Now I'll keep checking it out to see how it goes. Great idea!

No problems, that wasn't really a hack job, they just got a file uploaded. The security issue has been fixed, and all is well at cutfiles.

my site has 70ish free solidworks files which could be of use for diy-cncers. as well as versions is several other formats..

i could possibly create a similar file system on a more community-centric basis if someone has server space\bandwidth available.

i wrote a solidworks macro to do all the positioning, zooming, conversion, saving, and zipping.. something similar for 2D vector formats is easily imaginagle.

personally, i love cnczone, but the weaknesses of PHPboard\whatever style content management really show in certain areas.. still, gets the job done!
