    Set Up Definition

OK, just what is meant by "set up", when it pertains to a Bridgeport mill?. I can run one pretty good although I'm not a trained Machinist. I've run up against this description several time while searching for a job. Please explain the function of, " can you do set up " as well as operate?

"Setup" will be can the forman give you a program, drawing material, tools, and a machine and let you get the machine up and running and prove off the first part.

I believe that's it in a condensed nutshell.
