Hi,
Stupid question but..
I need some new cables for the welder so I got some 35mm2 welding cable.
The local electric shop sold me some cable lugs to fix the cable to a 8mm post.
The lugs I have are marked 35-8
This means they take a 35mm2 cable and have a 8mm hole in the lug part.
Now, I have one of those (cheep far-east) hydraulic 16ton crimpers,
I put in the pair of dies marked 35mm and crimped up the lug but its not qiute as tight on the cable as I would like.
Am I doing something wrong?
Should the die marked '35mm' be the right one for 35mm2 cable and 35mm lugs?
The next size die down is 25mm and deforms the lugs too much.
Should I just tin the ends of the cable to make it slightly larger before crimping it?
Many thanks!
