    Unhappy sharp sv-2412

    Hello folks!
I'm new to this kind of communication, but will give it a try. We have a Sharp mini mill here where I work. I am trying to input a program using a lap top computer.
The machine does not have a floppy drive to use that I guess is the normal thing. I do have the computer hooked up and it will send a program to the machine and actually downloads it into the memory. I want to run the program from the computer. I hope someone can help me with this!!

Not sure of your question? Do you want to run the machine from the PC? What type of controller is it, or it a PC based control?
Doesn't that have a Fanuc controller?

If it is a Fanuc, on most you have to enable a PMC bit in the ladder, via a panel switch if the option is wired in by the MTB.

It's in the Fanuc manual that came with the machine

    Problem solved

Thank you gentlemen for the input about my problem with the Sharp SV-2412!
I spent most of yesterday searching the net and discovered that I needed some more software. I downloaded a trial version of Dostec DNC. I did have some troubles setting everything up, but the the tech folks at Dostek are great and got me running in about an hour! Thanks again, Terri
