CMM options with Faro Arm / what is industry standard

Currently we have a Faro arm and are looking to improve our inspection methods . We are using faro's cam2 v4.0 and are not having luck with comparing solids from our Engineering department against the parts. What is the current industry standard when it comes to CMM software package? Ideally we can import solidedge v20 files directly select a feature on the model and using the faro arm touch off the part to compare dimensions. This is taking place in a Job shop so while there will be multiple parts measured from each model we would like to avoid any long prep times for the models. (Ex. creating a unique inspection profile for every part to be inspected) Any input is welcome, Thanks

If you have a Faroarm I'd stick with it and hunt for new software. CAM2 4.0 is for simple work and the reports are a joke. CAM2Q is much better but if you're reverse engineering, doing really complex parts or REALLY want to play with the reports I'd go with Verisurf or Polyworks. Their arm options are just several steps above CAM2.
