    What Programs would you Advise to get for designing Wood Baseball Bats

    Hi Everyone,

    I am looking to buy 1-2 programs to Help me in my designing of wood baseball bats? What Programs would you recommend?

    A baseball bat would have to be one of the simplest things to design. If you intend only designing bats and nothing else I would suggest you seek out some freeware like sketchup or something similar. There is no point in spending money on software if that's all you plan designing.

    Then pretty much any free 2D CAD program would be more than enough.

    Hi:
    Minna is also looking to generate toolpaths for the lathe, so he'll require (IMO)
    1) a cad package to design the product.
    2) a simple turning oriented CAM package to generate the Gcode for his lathe.
    or a combined CAD/CAM package.

    I've heard that Dolphin has a good lathe CAM package, but have no experience with it. They also have a CAD package as well. Might want to look into that.
