    Ball Mills Vs. Round Nose

I have a question. I was wondering how a ball mill used for milling metal would cut wood, actually ebony inlayed with mother of pearl. It doesn't have to be very smooth because final sanding will take care of that. My question is are they sharp enough? I don't know if they use different kind of sharpness for metal cutting bits? I have used a round nose router bit and it seems to do a decent job but knowing wood cutting bits the mother of pearl is going to dull it pretty quickly, and I think it is all ready. Below are links to what I'm using and what I want to use. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Link to the round nose router bit I'm using now, 3/4" diameter:

Mother of pearl is not that much different to rock, at least from the perspective of a cutting tool. Are you using carbide tools, I would expect high speed steel to have a short life and even carbide is going to dull much quicker than it does on metal or wood.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.
