    hybrid electric

I had a thought last night about a conversion of a welder mod I saw here on he Zone. A fellow took a 16 horse internal combustion engine and drove 4 Chrysler alternators to provide 220volts constant to run a very nice welder. My idea would be to use that same power to drive an electric car. Gas milage would certainly be more cost effective and amperage and voltage would be sufficient to get the vehical to an acceptable speed for traffic. I know it has probably already been done but doesnt seem to be a big hurdle.
