Hi everyone. This is my first post but hopefully not the last. I'm interested in all CNC machine for hobby and also with laser engraving options. Does your optics can withstand with more powerful laser diodes?

Why do you call your system Xaser? A xaser is an x-ray laser which can cut, weld and mark metals...

OK, for all who need a pic here are a few of my personal test unit.

There is one of the head itself and one beside a 3/4 end mill for size comparison. Dont let size fool you, as you will see as soon as I can get the rest of the "good" media sorted out, that it is quite powerful.

As for exact specs., I am waiting on our laser engineer to re-send me that info as I do not personally know the exact specs off hand.

I will try to get this thing mounted on my router tomorrow and get some samples made in whatever I have lying around here.

Also, I apologize for any delays. We have had an absolute flood of emails from all over the world about our system since the first posting. We did not expect the kind of interest we have had.

Are these units made here in the states or overseas. What about life expectancy.

The diodes, crystals and housings are made overseas. Im not sure where the secondary optics are actually made at but they are purchased in the states.

The electronics are made overseas also, with modifications done in-house to suit the purpose.

The life expectancy is between 3000-5000 hours.

Can't wait to get my hands on one! I am still in the preliminary stages of building my CNC router, but have been wanting a laser for a while!

I don't see any pictures of your test unit. When do you think the information will be ready?

Can the user replace the laser diode when needed?

In case youre laser diode has to be replaced can the user do that?
Are they available as replacement parts?

I'd like to see a video before I'd commit. At the moment a old CD burner can give up it's lazer diode a lot cheaper and it does engraving in plastic, will burn through electricians tape and other interesting things. What makes your's better? If it is American made, more points. if it is chinese? Well, I'll need to see it out perform what I can cobble together with old parts before I throw wads of cash at China.

    Mr Wild,

The DVD burner laser option also triggered my laser interest earlier... however, even over driving them (which will reduce the life of the laser) you possibly get around 400mW of power... The unit mentioned here supposed to be 2W of continuous power rated for much longer life... But like you and several other mentioned, let's see more details... :-)
