    soft limits

    Hi everyone, well made the machine, hooked up the pc and installed Mach 3.
    Knock me down with a feather IT WORKS! everything seems to be OK until i got to the soft limits, not a disaster but i can't work it out.
    I've set the X and Y negative limits Ok now i want to set the soft max which i thought ( as it is set in mm's) the amount of travel eg: 450mm for the Y and 950 for the X but when i tested it only seemed to travel half that distance and at the bottom of the screen said " Soft Limits System Movement Aborted.
    So has anybody any ideas why the shortfall in distance?

    Go to www.syilamerica.com and look under support. They have a nice video that shows the steps to setting up Soft Limits. You may not have a Syil, but the procedures should be the same.
