    Adding to a Romaxx cnc...

I'd like to get into 5/6 axis machining of small wooden toys. I really like the Romaxx CNC 3 axis machine. It's just about the right size for what I want to do.

My question for y'all out there: Can I add onto the Romaxx machine easily enough by buying additional drive units from http://www.doughtydrive.com/ and controlling these extra axes with a separate control box? The Romaxx machine says that it is ready to plug right into a PC, so they must have built a 3 axis control board into the machine. Therefore, I'd have to supply a separate 3 axis control enclosure for the A-B-C axes. I'm pretty sure that Mach-3 can control 6 total axes.

If that is the thing to do, how do I connect both the Romaxx machine AND this extra drive enclosure to my PC? Thanks in advance for any advice!

You can build a 2nd 3 axis controller & run it on MACH3 as LPT2.
You will need a good LPT2 port card that will put out 5VDC, some don't.
You may want to check your Z axis height as I don't think it will fit in the space.
