    Nakamura Tome Question

    Anyone here run a Nakamura SC 300 lathe? If so do you find it a really annoying loud whining machine? Even idle the fan noise is excessive. My Okuma running full out is quieter than the Nak sitting idle.

    Just wondering?

    you said it yourself, the fan is noisy so the bearings are most likely shot........ replace the fan. Keep the blades clean in the future, this will prevent excessive bearing wear or seizure.
