    Hey Blackbeard52 good job!
Khalid hello I hope to serve this small contribution, it needs improvement. The resolution of the machine is very poor, only makes 1mm² squares, but at least it is a starting point for further progress in this project.
This poor resolution is difficult to do this: -see the images-

Something funny is that search for information in English, German or Japanese pages, and got help near of my country and in Spanish in Peru, LOL

    Thanks

P.S: Thanks for your great contribution. Hope in future you will guide us...

Hi everybody! Here is the link to download rapidshare, the password is the same as before FACTORARGENTO.
Khalid I sent you all the info I have. This time the first link is very large images in great detail, and the second link is a video of the machine working...

    Pictures and (.DOC) file
    http://rapidshare.com/files/18996213...idery.rar.html

    Video
    http://rapidshare.com/files/18996929...raCNC.rar.html

...As I said before the problem of this machine is the poor resolution, but this machine can be improved much rewriting software, and a few more things...
But more important is that here we have a base from which to depart on our project, I have searched long time that info.

    Greetings to all..!

Great job!!! certainly looks inspiring. See some great inventive ideas coming from that info.

    Khalid

Here are a few pics of the machine as I saw it yesterday. As you can see the assembly was very simple and could easily be converted using lead screws on the x axis and belt or cable on the y axis. the foot of the sewing machine,as you can see from the photo, seems to be a cup of sorts to allow easy movement in all directions. this was a very smooth and fluid movement using these wheels as linear motion. Table length was about 12 feet. And used a non fancy Commercial sewing machine.

Thanks Ivan for uploading your great work on rapidshare.. The video is great... You have used optical encoder on the handwheel of sewing machine and i really like the way you left the machine ..i think you have used relay on the lefting mechanism.....

This is great machine.. i don't know why you have resolution problem???.... I think if you use fine thread rod instead of belt u can improve the resolution...

I have a lot of questions to ask... My mind is blowing for the time now and i can't concentrate.... However i have one question for the time now... The electric Board (controller) installed at your machine differs from the PCB Blue Print?? why??....

    Thanks and be with us

Bob.. You have it alone.. By the way nice pictures..the same in my mind too ...Thanks for posting those?..did you see any stitch regulator there?.. In one of the picture i saw electric button near hand wheel..i think it function is to start/stop the machine? am i wrong?..May be they have manual stitch regulator?

IVAN? How did you regulate the stitches..and what was the logic behind the Optical encoder.. How its function? How the machine knows the needle is outside the hole?...

I have a vague idea of that but u have a good practical experience.. and you can guide us to a robust DIY embroidary machine..

I become lazy a little now... hope as soon my 5 x 5ft CNC router completed i will cut those parts and will assemble...

BOB can you help me in QUILTING FOOT (Hopping Foot)??

Nope my wife was joining me.....No stitch regulator that I saw...Seemed to be a Singer standard... the stitch length would have been regulated by manual movement of the carriage. the tension of course by the adjustment on the machine itself. The red button was the on and off switch for the sewing machine to prevent over stitching a given area when it was released.

The quilting foot I saw was as you see it in the picture. it was a cup. sort of like half of a Belly Dancer Finger Symbols with a hole in the middle to accommodate the needle. As a matter of fact if you were to cut off the foot on a manual sewing machine and solder a symbol on it should work.

Or a last possibility would be to take a fender washer and ping it with a ball peen hammer to get a concave and braise that to he foot.

Also, Remember this is a quilting machine so the stitch length if varied would look more realistic (hand sewn). I am sure it could be converted to embroidery. however I think a more sophisticated sewing machine may be needed.

How the machine knows the needle is outside the hole?...

On these old sewing machines, the handwheel turns one full rotation for down needle, then one full rotation for up needle. Since he has an optical reader on the handwheel, its simple a matter of tracking optical interupt - 0 1 0 1 0 1

I just pulled out an old cast iron machine the other day and making the conversions Ivan made are trivial on them. Just need the time to pull it apart to clean and lubricate everything first (after of coarse all the house projects and car repairs....)

Brian I Welcome You and hope as your conversion proceed you will inform us.....As soon as you start overhauling of that cast iron machine, show us the pictures of your machine too...

Now we have Cream of CNCZoner geniuses onboard .. Now This flight can't be hijacked and we will reach our destination with a very good CNC sewing machine...

Now you must have to make this for her..she is making efforts side by side... You know how much the ladies are interested on this type of machine...
One thing i always think seriously , when we will make it..we have to run it..(chair) I am in little better condition, because my wife can at least make the design work on computer... However she would have to go under some training so that she can operate the machine all alone...:violin:
I have currently one computer right now, I would require two more computers... One for my 2nd CNC router and the other for CNC Quilting machine .. My home is going to be a junk of CNC machines...

The Picture you posted (along with quilting foot making idea)is a great cheapest solution.. Thanks for your efforts Bob

First the work is not mine, is of a page of Peru, the autror put to disposition for all the project. Just I download it to my PC and I summarized it in a .DOC

After one hour of search I found the link...

    http://eclipseproyect.blogspot.com/2...arizada-1.html

The stitches are regulated by an engine of 24v DC, by means of the optical sign the machine knows where are the needle.

Secondly I do not assemble the machine, I found information and rapidly I shared it in this forum

    Greetings for all...

Lot and lots of Zone participants do that....It is encouraged...It may be that you will never build it but just have an interest in seeing it built. Keep up the good work..

It appears the dc motor mounted on the foot is just a mechanism to lift the foot during rapid axis movement to another location. I would wonder if there is a need for a braking mechanism for the flywheel. From memory doesnt the machine freewheel after power is ceased?
