    Re: DIY- CNC Embroidery Machine

Considering the Hassle with present control system like Mach3.. I am shifting toward SD card based system with custom control.. Also looking for to control the rotation wheel with Servo. I think we will get industrial stitch speed on this. For all the guys who want to change in Zaxis values, please for time being you use Notepad to change manually or make a macro to post process your own value. I will definetly touch the SOFTWARE once i start working on hardware stuff...

Have a look at this board. It has breakouts for step/dir to gecko's etc

    and smoothieboard [Smoothieware]

Keep an eye on the g and M code limitation. is net workable.
There is also some work on BLDC motors

    good luck Khalid.

    Re: DIY- CNC Embroidery Machine

    Thanks,
The project achieved its milestone for embroidery but the number of stitches per minute is too less. Our main goal should be to achieve commercial stitches/time.
Yesterday i was thinking on how to program the microcontroller that can get G&M code and transfer to hardware for their rapid function. I mean high speed stitching speed..
1- 1st line of attack would be to add a simple optocoupler and a special encoder disc that will measure when the needle going inside the hoop and coming out. I will use interrupt function in the microcontroller
2- SIMPLE CONDITION: You run the wheel motor to its maximum speed and just pause the X-Y at the location when the needle just start entering and until it comes out. This approach will be good for small length stitches but not work well for Jump Stitches (May be when jump stitch comes we stop the wheel and make sure the needle is up ).
3- COMPLEX PROGRAMMING: To get the variable stitch length we should control the Wheel motor using PWM . We will 1st calculate the length of stitch and then adjust PWM of wheel motor and slow/fast it so that almost accurate stitch length achieved. For this We may have various approach. As i am going to do programming of microcontroller from scratch so all of community feedback will help me great.
WE MUST COMPLETE THIS PROJECT AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE FOR FAST STITCHING.

I also saw that many of us using Leadscrew for XY axis.. If we have to use Leadscrew that must be of multiple start. I will build my XY table with small NEMA17 motors and use belt. The other thing is that we are using G01 for moving X-Y axes table, instead we must use G00.

for the 2nd , no need to stop the motor we can make the length stitches in to few more stitches according to the jump length.
    this will do the eork

    Re: Embroidery Gcode Generator V2.4.3

    Good evening,
I thank you for all the work you did, it works perfectly.
BUT I still have a problem that I do not know how to solve I do not have the decimal in the Gcode.
I call you to find out if there is a solution?

    I thank you in advance

Printale, you have to do some settings in the MICROSOFT WINDOWS, i think you are using "," in place of decimals...

    thank you Khalid,
    actually it corrects the problem.
I am running Windows 10 your program works perfectly well.
for french people who could have the same problem:

    THX; after correction

PS: I'm also working on the integration of a servomotor on z

If someone have difficulties to find installation files, post number 852 on this thread might help https://www.cnczone.com/forums/cnc-w...ml#post1978278 It seems I can start this program on windows 10 64bit. Now can someone help and poke me to right direction, what program is recommend to make .dts files? I have a lot of experience using GRBL (arduino based Gcode stuff) and thinking this might work on it. But before doing anything, software bath must be checked carefully trough.

Thanks, it is not that easy to find suitable software, only thing I could find is https://inkscape.org/en/~wwderw/%E2%...dery-extension inkscape extension. This works, but .DST output seems to be broken currently, this can be avoided with .txt output and little bit of tinkering. Ok, let see how SophieSews.

    Re: DIY- CNC Embroidery Machine

Seems like my contraption is going to be belt driven, super simple, easy to make and 50% already done. I´m hoping to make some video or something when all comes together. But still need sewing machine, so is there anything special about it, any general purpose sewing machine will do? As long as it is fully working order, of course motor needs to be replaced to suit this purpose. But just about anything will do?

    James,
Yes any General Low cost sewing machine in working order should work. I am also thinking of using Belt drive and Arduino-GRBL combination..

Not sure should I call this progress, but at least something visible happened

3D printing last piece ATM, I hope my pile of important/awesome pieces hold enough bits and bops to cook something up.
