    Pin Setup

First off, im new to Linux and CNC so this likely isn’t the last you will be hearing from me :0)
I recently had bought a hobby CNC board and its manual has a pin setup list. No problem going through the emc2 setup wizard until its apparent there aren’t all of the options for the pins the manual says I need. For example there is no "x enable" and y z etc. I've read how versatile emc2 is but I can't seem to figure what to do now. The board was tested with Kcam and there even is a screen shot of the pin setup. I like emc2 better (I have a Kcam trial) and it happens to be free so I would like to stick with it. The topper of all of this is the controler's manual was electronically translated from Spanish, which equals alota gibberish. Essentially how do I get this pin setup to translate to emc2?

    Thanks in advance for everything!

here is the manual's pin setup directions.

    1 OPORT+20INVERTEDSPINDLE RELAY
    2 OPORT0 NORMALX-STEP
    3 OPORT1 NORMALX-DIR
    4 OPORT2 NORMALX-ENABLE

    6 OPORT4 NORMAL Y-DIR

There is an amp enable signal available in the stepconf signal listing. It looks to me like the number in the first column is the real pin number. That is what you'd use as you setup stepconf. Ignore the oport and iport thing entirely. Below is what I'd try from that list with what looks like extraneous keystrokes removed.

    Pin Signal
    1 INVERTED SPINDLE RELAY
    2 X-STEP
    3 X-DIR
    4 X-ENABLE
    5 Y-STEP
    6 Y-DIR
    7 Y-ENABLE
    8 Z-STEP
    9 Z-DIR
    10 IPORT+16 NORMAL NU
    11 INVERTED X-HOME SWITCH
    12 Y-HOME SWITCH
    13 Z-HOME SWITCH
    14 INVERTED Z-ENABLE

Stepconf has the provision to invert signals by clicking on the checkbutton to the right of the box listing the signal. When you've finished with that page it should look a bit like the attached screenshot.

Thank you for your post! Now that I am at college progress has slowed on the machine, however, last time I actually got the motors to work correctly (by some miracle :-). Being away from the machine I dont remember what exact settings were used but I think it is just "unused".
    thanks again.
