once you set up and tune your motors to mach 3 .if you unpluge them from the motor side would you have to tune them back again when pluging them back together.

no because your settings are stored on your computer
i agree that the settings are stored in the computer, but thats assuming that you plug them back in the way that you had them, if you cross one set of the wires you will see a difference(i believe it will reverse direction if your using a bipolar motor)
Grizzly X3, CNC Fusion Ballscrew kit, 3 500oz-in bipolar steppers, 3 203v Gecko's, Linear power supply from Hubbard CNC, Mach 3, BOBcad Pro Art V22, Rhino.
Never unplug the motors while the unit is still on. This will cause a huge back EMF. The spike will damage the drive transistors.
The tuning should remain the same as long as your using the same kind of motors.
hello again here is my set up basically I am ready to start running my mill I dont know much of electronics but here is my question does some one have a board like this one i have and also since I am ready to start setting up my motors does it mater which motor I wire to the control or can i just wire any controller to what ever motor. and then ones there wire woulg just set them up. is that the way it works.
i have used then boards in the past /it does'nt matter which motor you conect to each drive ,make sure you know the x/y/z then just config the right wires step/dir in your software /good look
make sure them transistors ain't touching too /was running mine with nema 23 motors worked well /if anything bad not much speed out of the drives before it started missing steps /but worked well at about 15-25 ipm
