Late April into May, possibly the the ****tiest month on hand in the shop. So you guys know my C11 board went up in flames. New board sent, Coolant pump would not turn on with the board. Sent back, new one sent. Pump still does not turn on with new Board, same settings, same hal config. Same everything! Today the last week and half the pump starts too sputter (After c11 went into flames) turns out today, after much testing. I'm pretty sure the pump is now ruined, it barely has an energy too pump (it won't even come close too pushing coolant up the line). So after the c11 went up in flames, i'm pretty sure it some how messed my pump up too.


So, relay for coolant pump does not work, pump now broken. And on top of that, I am backed up by about 3 weeks of work. Pretty good month.......(nuts)


How are those 5-7 pumps at surplus center? I need one quick I guess.

Are you sure that a fault with the pump wasn't what blew your C11?

No way, It was working great. The pump was fine, the C11 just blew one day.

Speeds I know its convient to have everything done up in one board but to this day I still kick myself for having all 3 axis on one board. Coolant shouldnt take down the whole mill. Its a nice item to have but plugging in the pump would have worked just as good until a new relay was sent. Take it as a learning lesson and exchange the board for a c1,c4,c5,c6. You will have all the same features as the c11 for about 20.00 more but if one fails the rest will continue on. Hope things will work out for you. I dont like being behind myself, it just adds to much stress.

Still not a bad price though.

I think this is the same pump Hoss is using, so maybe ask him about it before purchasing it.

Just some thoughts that might help you....

Let's see, you bought a surplus coolant pump, it failed and you are certain its failure is caused by the C11 I/O board? Are you sure that the pump (being wet) didn't short circuit and cause the C11 failure? How did you verify that the C11s failure caused the pump to fail? How did you determine that the pump didn't fail which in turn caused the C11 to fail? Do you have fuses on your high powered devices? Did you have a fuse between your coolant pump and the C11 board to protect it from short circuits?

If I were in your shoes, I would spend a lot of time going over that machine checking everything electrical - especially the high voltage stuff. For something so critical to your business, you shouldn't be short changing yourself by not looking into the problems properly.

The 900 GPH pump works great, no problems.
Forget the little $6 pumps, got one first and it couldn't lift more than 2 feet.
Maybe I'll use it to make a little Feng Shui Water Fountain.

Yea I think i'm going too just buy that pump. I'm a little worried, because small fine chips still get into my tank. So will it be sucking it up?

Small, fine, chips get into your tank. Coolant goes thru a hose from the tank to your pump. Therefore, Small, fine, chips will go into your pump. That was a rhetorical question right?

Hey Jason,
I used this 3/4 to 1/4 NPT bushing from Surplus center with a 1/4 hose barb.
You could use this one with a bigger hose or just search for "3/4 NPT" at Surplus Center
for a different size.

They do have them. You can get them in the plumbing or the Air tool section. Make sure you have some teflon tape to seal it with also.

My pump just came in. Looks very solid! I love the design, lot better then I thought it would be. Looks like it can be adjusted for flow rate, which is something I need and just looks solid. I bought the adapter today too!
