    Unhappy Fanuc 11M cutter compensation

I'm running a vertical mill with a Fanuc 11M control and trying to get cutter compensation to work.
Using tool #4 of 5 tools, I've put a "G41 D14" in the program. Under tool #14 I've put in .500 as the offset. The machine goes to the correct position then,
I keep getting an alarm message "PS272 CRC:Interference" message that stops the machine.
The tool offset page shows only the tool number and Data, not the geometery screen.
Is there another way to do this or am I imputting something wrong?

    Thanks

Can you post the section of the program where the alarm occurs (a few blocks before and after)?

Post your code. Maybe there's a mistake.

Sounds like your first feed move after comp is on is shorter than the offset value you're trying to take up (example: first move it .05 travel, your comp is .500 ... won't work, need more lead in). or.... is your first move an arc?

But like mike and dc said, post some code....
It's just a part..... cutter still goes round and round....

    Thanks

Thank you all that replyed to this message. Psychomill was correct, I had to much compensation in the program. I lowered it to .020 (what I really needed) and it worked fine.
