    Y over trave alarm on tool change?

    Yesterday we have one of our VF-2s at work had a Y over travel alarm when commanding a tool change threw MDI. This VF-2 has the side mount tool changer, and the alarm happened when the pocket dropped in to place, no arm movement just an alarm. After running the tool changer restore the alarm came back as soon as you tried another tool change. Shutting the machine down and turning it back on got rid of the alarm and it hasn't come back. Anyone else run across this?

    On our fanuc control if you interupt it in mid cycle you need to put in your cancel codes in mdi mode to clear any modal codes that might interfere with the tool changer. I just enter G00 G40 G49 G80 G90;
    If I don't do this I get an ATC alarm. Hope this is of some help.
